Happy New Year from our staff at the JCC Indianapolis! A new year is a great opportunity to start fresh and make your goals happen. We love watching our clients get inspired and make changes to better their lifestyles in the New Year. For many, New Year’s resolutions can vary, but they are almost always about achieving something that will have a positive impact on your life. If you’re looking to set some goals this year, check out a few suggestions below.
1. Take Control of Your Physical Health
At the JCC Indianapolis, we encourage our clients to be healthy above all else. Fitness should be an enjoyable experience that celebrates what your strong body can do, rather than a number on a scale or fitting into the latest beauty standards. With that in mind, check out the wide array of classes and fitness opportunities at the JCC Indianapolis. For adults, we offer swimming lessons, Pilates reformer, aerobic dance, reiki, yoga, cycling, personal training, and more. Trying something new is a great way to engage your mind and stick to healthy habits.
2. Encourage Healthy Habits for Your Kids
Another great goal is to help your kids develop healthy habits. If you feel like your kids are spending more time in front of a screen than being active, now is a great time to check out our winter sports sessions and get them moving! Being involved in sports is not only fun for kids, but also promotes a healthy, active lifestyle that will benefit them for years to come. They will also learn sportsmanship, time-management skills, and teamwork. These lessons are invaluable to kids of all ages!
3. Spend Quality Time with Your Kids
Finally, one of our favorite New Year’s resolutions is to spend more quality time with your kids! Busy schedules often get in the way of quality time and many parents feel like they don’t have enough opportunities to be intentional with their kids. We encourage you to look for opportunities such as school breaks to spend quality time with your kids. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is right around the corner and would be a great opportunity to spend the whole day reconnecting with your kids.
In addition to fitness classes and workshops, we offer many arts and cultural events throughout the year. The JCC Indianapolis has been an Indianapolis staple for more than 100 years and welcomes people of all backgrounds, faiths, and generations.
