Volunteer at the JCC Indianapolis
The concept of community service is closely tied to the basic Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world), which urges us to make a difference in the lives of others who may be less fortunate.
The JCC Indianapolis has a need for volunteers in different areas at different times of the year.
Our JCC Community
J Cares is our community service group whose goal is to activate and engage our J community in service to the greater community year-round. Projects include food, clothing and book drives, and beautification or environmental clean-up projects.
Every fall, more than 25 volunteers help us to put on our month-long Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts by greeting event-goers, taking tickets, serving refreshments, etc.
Jewish teens volunteer every spring for J-Serve.
Volunteer Opportunities
- General Volunteering: JCC volunteers help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Current opportunities include assisting in various program areas, welcoming and accommodating guests at birthday party rentals, acting as a gym attendant and light cleaning.
- Annual Campaign Volunteering: Generosity comes in many forms, and it’s often the best way to support important causes that matter the most in our lives. We are looking for volunteers to assist with our fundraising initiatives so that we can meet our annual fundraising goals. 100% of the dollars raised toward the JCC Annual Campaign go directly back into our programs, so that we can continue to further our mission.
- One-time Event/Committee Volunteer: We couldn’t host our signature events without our one-time event volunteers. Opportunities include, but are not limited to, Earth Day and the Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts. Additionally, we are looking for member volunteers to serve on our committees and task forces.
