Youth Sports & Recreation at the JCC Indianapolis
At the JCC Indianapolis, we believe youth participation in sports and recreation provides enrichment opportunities that are nurturing, educational, and fun and that promote community, enhance spiritual growth, cultivate Jewish identity, and foster lifelong friendships. With early childhood education, after-school care programming, and summer camp, families are a key membership group. We focus on skills development, sports, leagues, and training for ages 3 through 16.
Sports and Recreation Offerings
If you’re looking for youth sports leagues, sports for teens, and/or lessons and programs emphasizing fitness, the JCC is the place for you! We offer a variety of sports and recreation opportunities for ages 3-16.
The JCC is proud to be a partner in offering youth basketball camps, leagues, and training by the National Basketball Academy (tNBA) and the Indiana Pacers, the official Pacers Youth Basketball program! Programs are for ages 6-16. (tNBA logo) As well, we have an active Teen Pick-Up Basketball league.
The JCC has ballet classes Happy Feet I (ages 3-4) and Happy Feet II (ages 4-5) that are a playful intro to movement where our youngest dancers learn discipline, structure, and body control while having fun and using imagination. For older kids ages 6-8, dance classes feature hip hop dance moves—funk, krumping, popping, break dancing–focusing on learning to count music, feel the beat, and find confidence and creativity through dance.
The JCC partners with Indy Stars Gymnastics to provide gymnastics classes focused on coordination, balance, grace, and confidence through techniques in floor exercise, balance beam, vaulting, still rings, and tumbling. Skills are modified to fit different age groups, beginning with ages 3 and older.
The JCC partners with JumpBunch® to provide movement and exercise classes for young children ages 3 to 5. Movement improves kids’ fitness, builds confidence, and promotes learning. JumpBunch® classes focus on all phases of physical growth that include fine/gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, body balance, agility, and muscle development.
If you’re looking for a youth tennis program that is fun for your child while at the same time challenges them at their level of play, then the JCC is your top choice. Our players have fun, improve their tennis skills, and learn the importance of sportsmanship through a tennis program tailored to meet each player’s needs through drills, demonstrations, repetition, fun, and games.
