Event Details

Through Fri, Aug 4, drop off non-perishable, single-style snacks and meals in the bin near the JCC Welcome Desk to fill 100 Buddy Bags for food-insecure Westlane Middle School kids! In Marion County, 54,440 children are food-insecure and 66.2% of students are on free/reduced lunch. Helping these students fulfills the Jewish values of Ha’achalat Re’evim (feeding the hungry) and Achrayut (social responsibility).

Items to donate include cereals, oatmeal packets, mac & cheese, ramen noodles, soup, chips, juice boxes/capris suns, tuna packets, mashed potatoes, fruit cups, squeezable fruit pouches, Jell-O cups, pudding cups, fruit snacks, popcorn/goldfish/crackers, protein bars, and granola bars.

“Being human means being conscious and being responsible. By becoming responsible agents for social change we actualize not only our humanity but also our mission as Jews.” -Viktor Frankl
