If you are a consummate people person who loves to WOW and WOO and downright DELIVER the highest level of customer service, the JCC will absolutely fill your bucket. The schedule for this full-time (benefit eligible) non-exempt/hourly position is Thursday 9 am-6 pm, Friday 6 am-3 pm, Saturday and Sunday 7 am-4 pm.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and members and verify membership status upon check-in;
  • Provide information regarding JCC membership, policies and procedures, program events and classes, current and upcoming activities;
  • Answer incoming calls (through switchboard) and route calls using proper phone etiquette;
  • Process financial transactions;
  • Balance end-of-shift paperwork and deposit bag;
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an emergency in regards to contacting security/EMT/Fire Department;
  • Process membership applications (ie, paperwork, payment, picture IDs);
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed.

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma;
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience;
  • Proficient computer skills (with the ability to learn proprietary system);
  • Familiarity in processing financial transactions and maintaining cash drawer

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Professional and friendly attitude is essential;
  • Commitment to always providing excellent customer service to members, guests, visitors and co-workers;
  • Must be able to follow an emergency action plan;
  • Must be reliable and dependable;
  • Must be able to process cash transactions accurately;
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality of members’ information;
  • CPR/AED and First-Aid Certified is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a community center. The pace of work is variable with the possibility of multiple requests occurring simultaneously. The physical demands of the position include sitting/standing for long periods of time, using keyboard to process transactions.

 

Shift Hours

Thursday                  9 am–6 pm

Friday                           6 am–3 pm

Saturday & Sunday     7 am–4 pm
