Continuing the centuries-old tradition of fun and festive klezmer music. Klezmer music can be easily defined as “the folk music of the Jewish community” (think “Fiddler on the Roof”). For centuries, this music has helped Jews around the world celebrate the richness that is their heritage and faith.
The 65th Street Klezmorim is a traditional klezmer ensemble and the house band for the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation (IHC). The group is under the direction of Dr. Shawn Royer and was founded by Cantor Emeritus Janice Roger in 1996. The Klezmorim performs regularly for celebratory events, worship services, and music festivals, and presents interactive educational concerts at schools and universities.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy this FREE concert.
