Meet Our Pilates Instructors

The JCC Pilates program will help you get to the core of the matter with this complete training method pioneered by Joseph Pilates. Pilates can help you develop balance & symmetry, improve flexibility & coordination and enhance lower back mobility.

Mat Pilates

As of October 2021, JCC members may attend unlimited mat Pilates (and yoga) classes for $40 per month, or you may drop in for $12 per class. Find class times on our Group Exercise Schedule.

Pilates Reformer

The JCC’s certified Pilates instructors offer flexible hours and a variety of workouts on the Allegro Tower of Power Reformer. Work one-on-one or in a duet, trio or quartet to improve strength, flexibility, posture and overall body tone. If you’re new to Pilates, two private sessions are required before you can join a duet, trio or quartet. Half-hour sessions are great for building muscle stamina and mobility for active adults.

Also as of May 1, the JCC has switched from MindBody to Daxko for all wellness services. Make all your purchases in one system, using the card the JCC already has on file for you. Just sign in to your Daxko account, search for your program and register.

Cara George

Cara graduated cum laude with honors for excellence in Health Promotion from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Exercise Physiology. She has served as a trainer for the White House Athletic Center, where her personal training clients ranged from Department of Justice attorneys to members of the U.S. Marshal Service. Simultaneously, Cara served as a yoga and strength instructor for the Jewish Community Center in Fairfax, VA as well as a prenatal fitness trainer for the Women’s Crisis Pregnancy Center in Washington D.C. Cara is dedicated to her clients and receives no greater joy than seeing her customers attain their goals and be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle long after she has stopped training them.

Stacy Snyder

A graduate of Butler University (Go, Dawgs!), Stacy is a pharmacist by day. When she really got into fitness, Stacy lost 40-50 pounds. She credits the Reformer with being a great overall workout, helping with flexibility and strengthening abdominal muscles.

Lisa Thomas

Lisa graduated from Indiana University in 2008 with a degree in Kinesiology. Just days after graduating she started her career in the fitness industry. While getting her bachelors degree in Bloomington she became an ACE certified personal trainer as well as a STOTT (Merrithew) certified Pilates instructor. She stays current in her training methods by attending annual continuing education workshops. In her free time she enjoys working out and spending time with her friends and family. If you are eager to learn a new and safe way to exercise via Pilates reformer or need some extra motivation with your workouts via personal training, Lisa is just what you need!

Susan Vinicor

Susan received her Masters of Health Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 1989 and shortly thereafter developed an interest in Pilates as a rehabilitation technique. In 2000 she began taking a variety of Pilates courses, began teaching mat classes and later certified on the Reformer. Her passion is working with older adults to improve their quality of life, having developed her “Better Bones and Balance” class.

Ashley Zeller

Ashley is a certified e-RYT 200 yoga instructor and has 18+ years of yoga teaching experience. Her personal testimony to the health benefits of yoga and Pilates means her sessions always have a basis of healing and freedom.
