Celebrate Shavu’ot
During the first week of June, our community observed Shavu’ot, celebrating the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Shavu’ot reminds us of Torah’s enduring wisdom and spiritual renewal. Thank you to those of you who joined us to experience this beautiful festival through our workshops, readings, and community celebrations.
Yom Yerushalayim: Honoring Jerusalem’s Reunification
On May 25–26, 2025, we observe Yom Yerushalayim or Jerusalem Day, commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. This day celebrates the historical and spiritual significance of Jerusalem in Jewish life. Join us in reflecting on the city’s enduring legacy and place in our hearts.
Memorial Day: Remembering Our Heroes
Memorial Day, observed on May 26, 2025, is a holiday that honors the brave men and women who have died in military service to our country. It’s a moment for solemn reflection and gratitude. We encourage our community to participate in local commemorations and remember the sacrifices made for our freedoms.
Camp JCC: Summer Adventures Await
Camp JCC offers a vibrant summer experience for children from kindergarten through 9th grade. Various programs, including day camps, specialty camps, and sports camps, offer something for every interest. Camp sessions begin in early June, providing a safe and enriching environment for your child to learn, grow, and have fun.
Eskenazi Water Park: Splash into Summer
Our Eskenazi Water Park opens for the season on May 23, 2025. Featuring a 70,000-square-foot outdoor aquatics complex with various pools and water features, it’s the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the sun. Please note that the water park will be closed on May 24 in observance of Shavuot.
J Café: Refreshing Summer Bites
J Café offers kosher-certified treats in the water park, including personal pizzas, soft-serve ice cream, nachos, and Impossible burgers. The café operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with varying hours throughout the summer. Please note that, beginning summer 2025, J Café will be a cashless establishment.
“Life is Short”: Gallery Opening
The JCC Indianapolis Art Gallery proudly presents “Life is Short,” a poignant exhibition by local artist Kelly Spiegel. Inspired by Judah Halevi’s words on loving “what death can touch,” Spiegel’s vivid collection transforms her 29 years of Indianapolis memories and family connections into powerful visual memorials. Register to discover how this accomplished artist and Broad Ripple mental health therapist captures the ephemeral beauty of life through art.
