Specialty Camps

Help your child build skills in the sports and activities they like best with a JCC specialty camp. Campers receive personal attention from experienced instructors, who focus on skill development, teamwork, creativity and fun!

All specialty camps make use of the JCC’s indoor and outdoor facilities. You can create a unique experience for your child by combining our specialty camps with general day camps.

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz  |  Grades K-5

Open to all. JCC Member rate available.

Science & engineering concepts taught by building structures with LEGO® bricks. Choose from three themed one-week sessions.

Each day of camp will feature a teaching lesson covering a different aspect of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math (STEAM) and then a model of the day inspired by that lesson. Bricks 4 Kidz kids will learn engineering skills using special tech brick LEGO parts like gears, axles, motors and more.

Week 2 (June 10-14)  |  “Mad Scientist”

Put on your lab coat & goggles and join Bricks 4 Kidz for some LEGO® building & science fun!  Campers will build different motorized LEGO® models every day, and also perform science experiments!  Leave the mess in our science center, as we enjoy making slime, erupting volcanoes, and more!

Week 3 (June 17-21)  |  “Galaxy Far Away”

The Force will awaken a love for engineering. Campers will go on an adventurous journey through space! Campers will build models including a rebel fighter, their own special Yoda and lots of other cool space stuff. Come experience this stellar journey to a galaxy far away!

Week 7 (July 15-19)  |  “Ticket to Ride”

Delve into the history and mechanics of favorite amusement park rides in this imaginative unit. Campers will construct a Carousel Swing, Tilt a Whirl, Loop de Loop ride, Swing Boat ride, and Merry Go Round. Lessons incorporate lessons of physics, described in a way campers can understand, such as “g-force” inertia and momentum, as well as math concepts such as “there are 360 degrees in a circle.” These engaging lessons will give campers an understanding of the physical forces they experience every day.

Drone Camp

Drone Camp

“Drobots” Drone Camp  |  Grades 3-8

Open to all. JCC Member rate available.

Participants utilize imagination, hand-eye coordination and STEM applications to conquer challenges and missions – all in a team-oriented environment.

Grades 3-5

Week 4 (June 24-28)  |  Ultimate Drone Obstacle Challenge

Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Campers will use iPads and remote controls to navigate the drone through short and long obstacle courses. Participants will also create the design and help build the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activity and competition. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program.

Week 6 (July 8-12)  |  Drone Escape and Rescue

Drone search and rescue is a necessity for first responders around the world, adding a new layer of solutions to save lives across the globe. Now campers to can take part in and learn from simulated missions during this action-packed, creative, and educational program. Participants will learn to fly drones and rely on their rescue team to collect vital data in specific “rescue areas” to locate “victims” and safely rescue them. We use age-appropriate and cutting-edge technology methods available for creating plans, missions, and maps. Participants will also learn invaluable lessons on how to simply, quickly and accurately make informed and targeted suggestions for real-world positive applications.

Grades 6-8

Week 4 (June 24-28)  |  Drone Racing & Obstacle Challenge

This week will be filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. Flight squads post up against one another in friendly competition when they race themselves and the clock. Students first maneuver the drone through creative obstacle courses before taking on the challenge of flying for speed. Participants contribute fully in this program as they create the design and help build the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activities and competition. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Located in Wisconsin, Camp Chi is all about giving kids choices. A larger camp offers more activities, more amenities and more opportunities to meet friends who share common interests. The Indiana Pacers Summer Basketball Camps are at the JCC for their best season ever! Join us for expert instruction, fantastic giveaways and NBA excitement.

Week 3 (June 17-21)
Week 7 (July 15-19)

Campers head to Natural Valley Ranch in Brownsburg, IN, to learn all aspects of horsemanship, including grooming, tacking, mounting/dismounting, proper safety gear and safety precautions as well as riding technique. Each camper will have 2-3 hours of hands-on experience with their own horse in addition to plenty of riding time. Closed-toe shoes and long pants required.

Week 1 (June 3-7)
Week 6 (July 8-12)

Golf pros at the Golf Club of Indiana in Zionsville will give specific instructions to campers to help improve golf fundamentals, putting and chipping. Campers will also participate in contests and tournaments. Campers may bring their own golf clubs. If not, golf clubs will be provided.

Week 2 (June 10-14)

Campers will learn from coaches at Indy Stars Gymnastics in Indianapolis, who will teach about stunting, jumps, tumbling and dance. Indy Star Gymnastics also will include games, crafts and educational activities (that is their secret). Campers will be grouped based on age and skill level.

Campers can improve their soccer skills this summer with Indy Eleven, focusing on fundamental skills, strategy and lots of play. Campers will also work on individual and team skill development to become better players.

Join us on the courts at JCC Tennis Camp for a summer full of fun and games where you can improve your tennis game. We’ll participate in other sports to further improve strength, endurance and agility. The JCC tennis program is tailored to meet each player’s needs with drills, skill development, demonstrations and repetition.

Campers should bring a tennis racquet, non-marking tennis shoes, bathing suit, towel, extra shirt, sun block, water bottle, snacks and lunch.

Week 6 (July 8-12)

Campers will learn and develop skills in the sport of volleyball. Our coaches will be focus on teaching the basics of the games such as serving, volleyball skill-setting, passing and games. Introducing the sport of volleyball while teaching sportsmanship on and off the court.

Counselor in Training Camp

Extended Care

Open to all. JCC Member rate available.

Grades K-5 | Mon-Fri, 7-9 am and 4-6 pm

Extended care is available for children attending JCC Day and Sports Camps for an additional fee. Extended care is available for sports camps up to grade 5 and only available with entire day tennis camp.

Extended Care Schedule

Before-camp Care | 7–9 am
Campers have time to hang out in the B wing and play board games, color, watch cartoons or head to the gym (after 8 am). Breakfast is served until 8:30 am.

Camp | 9 am–4 pm
Camp staff escort Extended Care Campers to and from their respective camps.

After-camp Care | 4–6 pm
Camp activities continue after regular hours with additional arts & crafts, sports activities or more time playing in the pool. If a camper would prefer to unwind after a full day of camp fun, they may relax and play games in our lounge. Additional snack provided.

Extended Care Location

Aftercare for grades K-1 will be in the After School Care wing. Grades 2-5 will be based outside at the pavilion (or in the auditorium during inclement weather).
