Meet Abby

(Published July 17, 2017) Hi! I am Abby Endebrock (soon to-be Sweeney!) and I have loved every minute of my experience at the JCC. A little background – I am originally from Omaha, NE and went to school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Family Science, as well as a double Minor in Education & Psychology. My fiancé and I moved here 2 years ago and we hope to stay here for quite some time! I started in the JCC ECE Program as a Toddler Teacher, and recently accepted the position of the ECE Assistant Manager. I am so thankful for the JCC and have grown so much from the challenges and opportunities that Erin & Erica have presented to me.

Here are some Abby Fast Facts:

Favorite Word: I like the sound of the word “fickle” Least favorite word: Phlegm – the spelling is crazy and it’s gross Favorite book when you were young? Let’s Go Shopping! …that was definitely the beginning of my shopping addiction – ha! Favorite book to read to kiddos? The Usborne Books That’s Not My… series Funniest thing you’ve overheard in the classroom? When the Chicago Cubs were in the World Series last year, we listened to the “Go, Cubs, Go” song every day, multiple times a day. It was constantly requested by the toddlers. It got to the point where they didn’t even need to hear the song, but would randomly belt out, “Hey ‘Cago, whaddya yay?!” In case you didn’t know, the words are “Hey Chicago, whaddya say?!” That was definitely one of the most fun times I had with my kiddos – they were as excited about the Cubbies as my co-teacher and I! Favorite inspirational quote? “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.” – Dita Von Teese
