The JCC has lots of programs and events specifically for seniors. All the programs listed are free for JCC members, unless noted otherwise. You do not need to be a member of SilverSneakers to join in a class of that title.
Top 3 Reasons You Should Schedule a Tour
- Backer Therapy Pool. We are one of the only facilities in the city that has a pool with a moveable floor that adjusts to different depths for whatever’s needed. For many seniors, that means no going up and down ladders. We’ll lower the floor, and you, into the pool. But even better than that, the water’s warm. Really warm. There’s no shock when you enter the water. It’s more like…ahhhhhh.
- Jim Gould. Our not-so-secret weapon is instructor Jim Gould. He’s fabulous. His students love him because he believes exercise should be fun or otherwise you won’t want to do it and stick with it. Click here for a little bit more about Jim Gould.
- Our Seniors. Time and time again we have heard from our members that an unexpected side effect of regularly exercising is the friendships they’ve made here at the JCC. You’ll start to recognize your fellow exercisers and before long, there’ll be one, or two, or more people who will miss you when you don’t show up. And we hope you take that as added incentive to make sure you exercise regularly.

Those with arthritis should definitely check out Aquajoints and Fit Joints Plus, programs by the Arthritis Foundation specifically for those with joint arthritis. While there is a fee, it’s cheaper for JCC members and 10-visit discount packs.
