(Updated 09/14/2021)

The health and safety of our members, guests and staff is our top priority.

Our safety procedures have been proven effective in minimizing any adverse health impacts to our staff and members. The following is a comprehensive list of policies in place by area in our facility.

JCC Operating Hours

Mon-Thu: 6 am-8 pm
Fri: 6 am-6 pm
Sat-Sun: 7 am-6 pm

Health and Safety Protocols

  • As of Wed, Sep 15, all JCC members and visitors ages 3 and older are required to wear masks, whether vaccinated or not, in accordance with the Marion County Public Health Department recommendation and in line with other organizations on campus. Masks are not required during exercising but are required when traveling to/from the fitness center. In addition, masks must not be worn in the pool while swimming, but should be worn on the pool deck and when traveling to and from the pool.
    •  Youth programs including CampJCC and ECE will follow guidelines in the parent handbook until further notice.
  • COVID Diagnosis
    • Those who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 AND ARE SYMPTOMATIC must meet all the following before returning to campus:
      • At least 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medication AND
      • Improvement in COVID symptoms AND
      • At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared
      • Please note that these three criteria apply to everyone, whether fully vaccinated or not
    • Those who have tested positive for COVID but HAVE NO SYMPTOMS, may return to campus after 10 days have passed since the positive test result.
    • COVID symptoms include fever or chills, fatigue, sore throat, cough, muscle or body aches, congestion or runny nose, shortness of breath, headache, nausea or vomiting, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, and/or diarrhea.
  • COVID Exposure
    • Following close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes) of someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis:
      • Those who have NOT been fully vaccinated should wait for 14 days after exposure based on the time it takes to develop the illness. If symptoms develop, see above.
      • Those who ARE fully vaccinated and have been in close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes) of someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis are free to visit unless they have symptoms (see above) or if they live in a group setting, e.g., correctional facility or group home (would need to wait to visit the J for 14 days).

Please note that hands-free investments have been made throughout the facility including automatic flushing toilets, electric hand dryers and occupancy sensors for lights and small meeting rooms (no need to touch a light switch!).

Masks

  • As of Wed, Sep 15, all JCC members and visitors ages 3 and older are required to wear masks, whether vaccinated or not, in accordance with the Marion County Public Health Department recommendation and in line with other organizations on campus. Masks are not required during exercising but are required when traveling to/from the fitness center.
    • Parents of youth in child care programs have been notified directly of any changes.
  • Masks are NOT allowed IN the swimming pool

Cleaning/Sanitation Protocols

The JCC uses a comprehensive approach to cleaning and sanitation protocols to allow for proper disinfection.

Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the facility to accommodate for when soap and water are not available for complete hand washing.

Visitors are required to wipe down equipment in the Mordoh Fitness Center after each use.

Air handling: Each area has its own, separate HVAC system with the size of the system based on the area to be covered. Fans run continuously for the best ventilation and filters are changed regularly. For example, the Mordoh Fitness Center has 7 rooftop HVAC units, 5 tons each. The Group Ex Studio has its own 7.5-ton HVAC system. In December 2020, the filters were upgraded from MERV 7 (standard) to high-efficiency MERV 13, which can trap very small particles including the virus that causes COVID-19, adding another layer of protection against the disease when used along with other best practices
