New Fitness Equipment

The JCC is pleased to announce that due to a fund established by a generous benefactor, we are able to replace outdated equipment and do a thorough cleaning of the Mordoh Fitness Center in April while the JCC is closed.

New Equipment

The Assault AirRunner is a premier running machine that packs an intense workout into a small package. It is completely manual, with no electric consumption. Monitor your distance, calories burned, heart rate and more with the read-out console, featuring eight workout options to help you stay motivated.
The EFX 863 Elliptical features:

  • Fixed handlebars that allow you to focus on lower body workouts at higher resistance levels or challenge muscle stabilizers during hands-free training (we are also getting the EFX 865 Elliptical with moving handlebars, allowing you to push and pull with your upper body to achieve a total body workout)
  • Console with TV and internet viewing options
  • Converging CrossRamp footpath design. With incline adjustments between 10 and 35 degrees, along with 20 levels of resistance, you’ll get a challenging workout with a more natural feeling stride.

The RBK 835 Recumbent Bike features:

  • LED console
  • Step-through design and low step-over height, designed for easy entry
  • Air flex seat featuring a ventilated panel and unique suspension system for a cool, cushioned ride
  • Simple seat adjustment allowing the rider to change the position of the seat with one hand, on or off the bike
  • Dual-sided pedals allowing the rider to use the pedals with or without the integrated straps. The extra wide pedals comfortably accommodate feet of all sizes.

The TRM 865 Treadmill features:

Q&A

When will these changes take place?

We will install the new equipment in Mordoh Fitness Center after completing a thorough cleaning in April.

What equipment will be new?

We are replacing 90% of our cardio equipment and our strength line. We are eliminating all but three pieces in our Free Motion line. We are keeping our Keiser spin bikes.

Why did we get all new equipment?

Most of our equipment has reached or is near the end of its useful life. We will be moving to a lease cycle so that we are able to update our equipment more regularly.

What is this going to cost?

The new lease was possible from a grant through the Mordoh Fund. Our generous benefactor Leon Mordoh z”l set up a fund for us to regularly replace equipment.

Will I be able to purchase any of the used equipment?

No. The equipment is part of a trade-in deal with our vendor.

Are we getting any new equipment?

We are pleased to have secured a self-propelled treadmill called the Assault AirRunner. It is eco-friendly in that it uses absolutely no electricity. Most of the new cardio equipment will have upgraded consoles with phone-charging capability and social media apps.

Will the configuration/layout of the fitness equipment change?

Most of the cardio will remain in the same area, but the layout on the rest of the floor may change.
