Come for the Run. Stay for the Fun!
The 2019 Earth Day at the J 5K run kicks off Earth Day at the J, featuring more than 60 earth-friendly organizations offering hands-on activities and demonstrations. In keeping with the theme, participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. The run is topped off with partaking of everyone’s favorite nosh, the bagel! Bagels and all the fixings have been generously donated by Shapiro’s Delicatessen.
The race starts at 10:30 am on Sunday, April 28 and starts and ends on the JCC campus.
Each participant in the 5K and 1-mile course receives a shirt, medal and, of course, bagels! Each participant in the 5K will be timed (results will be posted online). (Please note that one-mile participants will not be timed.)
The event is rain or shine and entry fees are non-refundable. Dogs are not allowed, but strollers are welcome for the 1-mile walk and kids in strollers are free. Registration packet pickup will be Wed, Apr 24 from 5-8 pm and Sat, Apr 27 from 10 am-2 pm. Late pickup is available on raceday, Sun, Apr 28 from 8:30-10 am.
The JCC will have a minimum quantity of shirts available for exchange while quantities last.
All proceeds benefit the JCC of Indianapolis, a registered non-profit community center that is an affiliated agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis, Inc., the United Way of Central Indiana and the Jewish Community Centers Association of North America. Guided by Jewish values and traditions, the Indianapolis J provides inclusive experiences that lead to personal growth and community building. Together, we inspire all people to become the best versions of themselves.
