  4. Can children participate in group exercise classes if their parents are present?

    • Yes and no. It depends on the type of class and the age of the child.

For classes like Zumba or classes that don’t involve weights, they should be at least 13 and able to pay attention for the full length of the class and not be disruptive. For cycling they also need to be tall enough to adequately fit the bike.

For classes that involve weights, e.g., BodyPump, we use the same guideline as using free weights—the child needs to be 16.

  5. Facility looks beautiful but just too expensive. 🙁 Monon Community Center was only $45.

    • I can’t speak to Monon’s pricing, but to break out our pricing…. For a family one-day visit, it’s $45 for up to 2 adults and 3 children, so $9 per person for the day. That’s good all summer long. But, if you buy before June 11, when you buy one (1) family day pass, you get a second free, so $4.50 per person. For the J Pass, you get 20 visits for $99. That’s $4.95 per person. There are some blackout dates. The summer membership is $300 for two months for up to 2 adults and 3 children, so $30 per person per month ($300 divided in two than divided by 5 people in the household). But it’s for unlimited visits and there are no blackout dates. To get a daily rate, it depends on how often the family comes. If they come every day, then it’s $1 per person. Plus, we’re giving $100 in coupons for JCC services. There is a one-time $99 join fee. With this option, if after you try us, you want to join, we apply what you paid toward a year-long membership.
